Surveying Technician / Survey & Reality Capture Engineer (m/f/d)

qapture is a visionary team of developers, project managers, mapping specialists, architects and strategists who take on new challenges with an open mind. qapture is a leader in transforming physical environments into high-precision digital twins. Our technologies include advanced laser scanning, robotics and AI, with a focus on the construction, logistics, industrial plant and retail sectors.

Your tasks

Reality capture is genuine craftsmanship at a high-tech level here and you are where it all begins: in the field, at the source of the data. You capture real-world environments with such precision that they become reliable point clouds, BIM models and digital twins.

Surveying, 3D laser scanning, BIM and our own software development all interlock. This is how our interdisciplinary team captures even the most complex environments reliably and with millimetre accuracy  using state-of-the-art scanners, mobile mapping systems and workflows that we develop and continuously improve ourselves.

Flat hierarchies, short decision-making paths and real creative freedom are part of everyday life here. For our team, we are looking for a technology-driven personality who supports our scan projects with full commitment from the initial planning to the fully processed point cloud.

Your main tasks:

  • Independent planning and preparation of scan assignments: station and route planning, definition of control points and on-site workflow organisation
  • Surveying and 3D capture in the field: from setting and measuring control points with total stations and GNSS to capturing with terrestrial laser scanners and mobile mapping systems
  • Geodetic processing and full post-processing of the measurement data: computation, adjustment and georeferencing as well as registration, quality control, cleaning and preparation of the point clouds, correctly positioned in the superordinate coordinate system
  • Project assignments at renowned enterprise clients in Austria and abroad
  • Close collaboration within an interdisciplinary team: your data is the foundation our BIM modellers and our Innovation & AI department build on – you see what becomes of the data for our clients and actively help shape the process
  • Active contribution to the ongoing development of our technologies, workflows and quality standards

Your qualifications and strengths

  • A completed qualification in surveying: as a surveying technician with a vocational qualification or as a surveying engineer with a degree in geodesy, surveying or a comparable field
  • Enjoyment of fieldwork and the willingness to get out there, roll up your sleeves and be hands-on – the position involves regular multi-day project assignments with overnight stays in Austria and abroad
  • Class B driving licence
  • Solid experience in classical surveying with total stations and GNSS, as well as a confident command of setting up control and reference point networks and of georeferencing
  • Practical experience with terrestrial laser scanning and/or mobile mapping is an advantage
  • Knowledge of registration, cleaning and processing of point clouds or the motivation to quickly get up to speed with the relevant software solutions
  • A good understanding of spatial relationships and measurement accuracy
  • Enthusiasm for modern technologies, sensor systems and digital, AI-supported ways of working – and the drive to actively push forward the use of AI in our workflows
  • A precise, structured, reliable and self-directed way of working
  • Very good German skills; English skills are an advantage

No experience in Scan2BIM yet? No problem. A structured onboarding into our technologies, software solutions and workflows is part of getting started. And if you don’t meet every single point: get in touch anyway – in the end, the right attitude matters to us at least as much!

Your benefits

  • Work with high-end technologies: terrestrial laser scanners, mobile mapping systems, the latest sensor technology and, on suitable assignments, our robot dog “Spot”
  • Varied projects across construction, industry, logistics and retail: different locations, interesting insights and diverse tasks instead of monotonous routine
  • A collegial, interdisciplinary team with genuine enthusiasm for technology
  • A real sense of togetherness that doesn’t end when the workday does: from spontaneous after-work rounds and shared activities to celebrations and outings that stay in your memory
  • Direct communication, flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths
  • Plenty of personal responsibility and the opportunity to actively shape processes and ways of working
  • Close collaboration with experts from reality capture, BIM, software development and project management
  • Professional and personal development opportunities in a rapidly growing field of the future
  • An attractive workplace, from November 2026 in our new office in the Quadrill Tower in Linz, central and modern
  • Mobility support: an individually negotiable public transport pass
  • An attractive salary that reflects your qualifications and experience
